A logistics and industrial hub, the Port of Cherbourg specializes in marine renewable energies (MRE) and the handling of hazardous goods.

80 hectares of dedicated storage areas, 3 port cranes, a hazardous materials storage park, 900 m of quay length including 360 m with a capacity of 5 T/m² suitable for handling general cargo and bulk goods, and a 220 m quay with a capacity of 15 T/m² dedicated to heavy-lift cargo handling.
The Port of Cherbourg has 3 cranes as lifting equipment with the following capacities:
- LHM 600 with a capacity of 208T at the hook
- LHM 250 with a capacity of 63T
- LHM 320 with a capacity of 102T
Commercial activity represents an average of 230 port calls per year for 150,000 tonnes of cargo.
Thanks to local expertise and proximity to the sea, Cherbourg has become a major player in the marine renewable energy sector, attracting numerous companies and investors.
